BCRC Report: Black Voices Across the Spectrum - Understanding the Employment Experiences of Black Neurodivergent Individuals in Montreal

This research project reveals what it’s like for Black neurodivergent individuals in Montreal to navigate employment, support systems, and daily life. Through powerful lived experiences shared in interviews and a focus group, the report uncovers how barriers such as social isolation, fragmented services, and limited, one‑size‑fits‑all pathways shape opportunities, while also highlighting the strengths, resilience, and support networks that make a difference. Grounded in community voices and informed by broader frameworks and existing resources, including the Skills for Success (SFS) framework and the CELI inventory, the study situates these experiences within the broader ecosystem of supports. It offers practical recommendations to rethink how we design inclusive, accessible, and meaningful support and why that matters.
